Griffin has 50 in Pistons' wild OT win

DETROIT (AP) Blake Griffin has heard the critics, but the veteran forward knows it'll take more nights like Tuesday to get where his team wants to go.

Griffin scored a career-high 50 points and had the game-winner after he was fouled on a driving layup with 1.8 seconds left as Detroit topped Philadelphia 133-132 in a wild overtime thriller.

Riddled with injuries during his last few years with the Los Angeles Clippers and then traded last season by his first pro team, Griffin has talked this offseason after proving something.

Bulls' Dunn out 4-6 wks. with MCL sprain

CHICAGO (AP) The Chicago Bulls say point guard Kris Dunn will miss four to six weeks because of a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee.

Coach Fred Hoiberg said Tuesday that Dunn was injured going for a layup in the second quarter of Monday's loss at Dallas. Dunn stayed in and finished with nine points and seven assists after missing the first two games of the season for the birth of his first child.

Nuggets 4-0 for 1st time since 2009-10

DENVER (AP) Jamal Murray scored 14 of his 19 points in the third quarter and Nikola Jokic had 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 126-112 win over the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night.

Denver has won its first four games for the first time since starting 5-0 in 2009-10. The Nuggets swept their three-game homestand, including a win over Golden State on Sunday.

Davis' 34 and 13 keep Pelicans unbeaten

NEW ORLEANS (AP) Anthony Davis did exactly what New Orleans has come to expect and Pelicans newcomer Elfrid Payton showed his hometown more of what he has to offer when clutch play is in demand.

Davis highlighted a 34-point, 13-rebound, five-block performance with a left-wing 3 with less than two minutes remaining, Payton added a back-breaking 3 in the final minute of his first 20-point performance for the Pelicans, and New Orleans remained unbeaten through three games with a 116-109 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night.

Spurs rally past winless Lakers in OT

LOS ANGELES (AP) LeBron James hit the tying 3-pointer late in regulation. He led a Lakers lineup of three second-year pros and a rookie making his NBA debut to a 142-136 lead with 55 seconds left overtime.

James was then reminded in spectacular fashion that nothing will be easy in this West Coast chapter of his career.

Leonard scores 22, Raptors move to 4-0

TORONTO (AP) A tough Toronto Raptors defense took the sting out of Charlotte's 3-point shooting.

Kawhi Leonard scored 22 points, Kyle Lowry had 16 points and a season-high 14 assists, and Toronto never trailed in a 127-106 victory over the Hornets on Monday night, the Raptors' fourth straight win to open the season.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors got back to their pass-happy ways and coach Steve Kerr could smile again about all those assists, fewer fouls and a better night taking care of the ball.

"We understand what the keys to our success are and when we don't do them we make the game extremely tough and give the other team life in terms of more possessions," Curry said.
