Stewart stopped by trooper, gets warning

DEKALB, Ill. (AP) Former NASCAR driver Tony Stewart was stopped by an Illinois state trooper over the weekend, but not for speeding.

Police spokesman Jason Bradley says Stewart was pulled over Friday for improper lane usage and issued a warning on Interstate 88 in DeKalb, roughly 65 miles from Chicago. Read More...

Kyle Busch gets elusive All-Star win

CONCORD, N.C. (AP) Kyle Busch used a bold three-wide pass for the lead Saturday night to win NASCAR's annual All-Star race for the first time.

Although the race does not count in the standings, it was Busch's first Cup victory of the season and first at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Busch also won the Truck Series race Friday night, but the victory Saturday was worth a cool $1 million. Read More...

Almirola out 8-12 weeks with broken back

CONCORD, N.C. (AP) Aric Almirola celebrated a victory with his family one weekend, then found himself on a backboard in a helicopter on the way to the hospital just seven days later.

Almirola fractured a vertebra in a crash Saturday night at Kansas Speedway and could miss up to three months of the NASCAR season. The 33-year-old Almirola will heed doctor warnings and not rush back to racing because he has been warned further injury could lead to paralysis. Read More...

Kyle Busch wins second straight Trucks

CONCORD, N.C. (AP) Kyle Busch raced to his second straight NASCAR Truck Series victory Friday night, leading 90 of 134 laps in a dominating run at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Busch has 48 career Truck victories - three short of Ron Hornaday Jr.'s series record - and 173 wins overall in NASCAR's top three series, also winning 38 Cup races and 87 Xfinity events. Read More...

Fox using active drivers in Xfinity call

CONCORD, N.C. (AP) Fox Sports will use an on-air team comprised entirely of active NASCAR drivers to call the June 10 Xfinity Series race at Pocono.
